30 days left

We only have 30 days left of school! I have started my countdown. This time of year is always exciting and sad. It's hard to say goodbye to the 21 kids I have had for the past 9 months. I feel like they are mine... However, I am ready for summer and a break! This time of year is very busy with field trips, testing, assemblies and preparing for our Kindergarten graduation. So with so much to do the next 30 days of school should fly by... And then I will be enjoying my tattle-free summer!

Babies everywhere!

This must be the time of year for babies. I have lost count of how many people I know that have had babies within the past month and who are about to have a baby. Congrats to all of you! I look forward to joining motherhood one of these days along with you.

Happy Birthday!

We have had a lot of birthdays lately. On Monday we celebrated my brother in-law's birthday. Friday was our dog, Wrigley's 7th birthday. Saturday was Justin's 30th birthday. Sunday is our niece, Maya's 4th birthday and this next Friday is our niece Keelie's 6th birthday. Saturday morning we woke up to toilet paper all over our backyard, thanks to some kids in the youth group. Justin wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant where they cook on a grill in front of you for his birthday. I forgot to take pictures there. My nephew, Evan was scared of the fire, but my niece loved it. Justin with his Dairy Queen peanut butter cup blizzard cake.

Evan. He finally smiled for the camera when I told him he had to take a picture to get a piece of the ice cream cake.
Today we drove to a college an hour from here to see Justin's old tennis team. The college he played for was going to be in this town. He was looking forward to seeing his old coach. We got there and no one was around. Finally an hour later, tennis players started showing up. We went and asked them about Justin's old college and to find out if they were still playing. Turns out that another team was late showing up to the tournament yesterday, so Justin's college played both matches yesterday and we missed them. So we drove 2 hours round trip for nothing....
I am glad this week is over. It was an exhausting week back after spring break. Then I had conferences til 7 Tuesday and Thursday. 44 days left of school... I am counting down

Pictures from our trip

We finally got our camera cord, so I could upload our few pictures from our trip to Minneapolis. I don't understand why they are in the opposite order I put them in, but oh well. These are pictures of us at the aquarium at the Mall of America.

This is us at the basketball game.

Trip to Minneapolis

So, I took a couple of pictures on our trip, but I can't put them up yet. Henry, our beagle, chewed through our cord to our camera. I went to Walmart, Target and Staples, but nobody had the right cord, so I had to order one on the internet. I will have to post them once I get it

Justin and I left Sunday morning and drove through lovely rain to get to Minneapolis. Once we got there we went straight to Target Center to watch the Minnesota Timberwolves play the Oklahoma Thunder. We had pretty good seats for the game, but it wasn't too exciting of a game. We enjoyed the dunking show at half-time though. After the game we headed back south to find our hotel. There is a LOT of construction going on, but we managed to find it. We had to sit and watch some of the NCAA games of course. So far I am ahead of Justin and my brother in-law. Then we went and ate at PF Changs and had some yummy lettuce wraps. Right next to PF Changs was a Cheesecake Factory, so we got a piece to take back to the hotel.

The next day we went to the Mall of America. It was a very big mall, but somehow I imagined it to be even bigger. We did some shopping, rode a couple of rides, went to the aquarium, and played miniature golf. We ate yummy shrimp at Bubba Gumps along with my mango pina colada. YUM! We were at the mall from 10-7:30. By then our legs were sore and we were tired of walking, so we headed back to our hotel.

Tuesday we went to a couple of stores and then headed home. We stopped briefly at an outlet mall and then later for dinner. We got home by 7 Tuesday night. It was so nice to get away for a couple of days. Our dogs missed us. Thanks to my mom, brother in-law and a girl from the youth group for taking care of them.

Now we are back to our home and all of the things we need to do here. We have started painting our family room in the basement. We already painted our living room, hallway and office. Next we will be on to our bedroom/bathroom if I can ever pick out a color.

Busy, busy, busy

Not much has been going on in our world... Just busy with work. We have Kindergarten Round-up this week and then report cards will be going home along with conferences, so I have lots to do this week before spring break! Justin's mom came in town for the weekend. It was nice to see her. Justin is with the youth group at a hockey game this afternoon, so I am at home relaxing, doing laundry and reading Twilight. Since half of my school has read them, now it is my turn. One of the teachers is having a Twilight party on Saturday, so my goal is to finish it by then.

Dr. Seuss' Birthday

At school we have been having fun reading lots of Dr. Seuss books. In Kindergarten we do a rotation on Dr. Seuss' birthday. I got to be in charge of making green eggs and ham this year. Since my husband has such a flexible schedule I made him come help me along with another mom. I couldn't have done it without them. It was a lot of work! Not only did my hands stay green all day, but my room smelled like eggs and ham all day. It still smells like it today. There are 3 Kindergarten classes, so we got to make them 3 times. In the other classes they got to make ooblek and hats. During my class I was passing out eggs, when I heard somebody spill milk. I went to see who it was and got my foot caught in someone's chair and fell on my knee. It still hurts really bad and I will probably have a lovely bruise. I had to fill out a workman's comp paper in case something happens with it. The rest of the day my kids kept trying to rub it for me. They are very sweet! It was an interesting day! Unfortunately the only pictures I have are my kids and I can't put them on here. I should have taken a picture of Justin cooking... oh well..
